The range of wet and dry food caters for cats and dogs at different life stages, as well as the needs of particular breeds and medical conditions. Advance is formulated on science backed by the Waltham Petcare Science Institute.
Advance is an Australian company with two manufacturing sites. Dry dog and cat food is made in Bathurst, NSW. The wet cat food trays and canned dog food are made in Wodonga, Victoria. The wet food pouches for cats are made offshore in Pak Chong, Thailand.
Each type of Advance dog and cat food – wet, dry, cat, kitten, puppy, dog – is made of a combination of animal proteins, plant proteins, fibres, oils and fats, to create a balanced diet for your pet.
Animal proteins include poultry, lamb, beef and salmon and other ocean fish.
The most common grain ingredient is rice, and a mix of different vegetable products provide other carbohydrates and fibre. Fats and oils come from Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids.
Each type of food has its own balance of ingredients to offer best nutrition to the specific animal, depending on age, breed and specific medical conditions.
Dogs and cats can sometimes be fussy about abrupt changes in diet, and it can cause digestive upsets too. So it’s important to make any changes gradual. Add a small amount of the new Advance food to their existing food to start, then gradually build up the proportion over a week or two to allow them to adjust.
You can find a feeding guide on the back of the pack. How much you feed your dog or cat will depend on age, weight and activity level. if you're unsure about over or underfeeding your pet, talk to your vet!
Advance dry food comes in resealable packaging, and is best kept in the bag, which can be kept in a lidded container to make it less accessible to a greedy pet!
Wet food, once opened, needs to be covered and kept in a refrigerator for up to two days. If there is any left after that, it should be discarded.
